The Phantom Knights continued preparations for the second half of the season with 2 very successful days filled with hard work and fun.

The end result was a show triumph going from strength to strength.

Phantom Knights had an awesome performance making a marked improvement on previous shows and closing the gap on other corps.

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the corps is now looking forward to DCUK Finals.

Fun Start to the 2011 Competition Season

BYBA CADENCE SPECTACULAR 12th June 2011

Despite a damp start, the weather thankfully held off for our first competition of the season.

The corps performed well and earned a respectable 3rd placing at Aldershot.

BYBA SPOTLIGHT ON YOUTH 26th June 2011

Then onto Nottingham, where regardless of melting in the heat; at their second show the corps performed blindingly coming in close 2nd place.

DCUK GRANTHAM 3rd July 2011

A first for many members of Phantom Knights and the first time for Phantom since 2001 to be entering a DCUK show.

Entering into Open Class the corps scored 8th place after a tremendous performance and spirits are running high for future performances.

The band continued from strength to strength at a very happy and productive Easter Camp held at Beaumanor Hall.

It was particularly good to see the younger members rising to the challenge and, as for that clock, what can I say?

2011 Gets off to flying start

The band camp at Warwick Girls HQ is always a good start to the season and gives everyone a chance to see how far we've come.

Everybody had a great time and we are well ahead compared to this time last year.

BYBA Individuals and Ensembles 7th November 2010

Phantom Knights saw 6 competitors enter into 7 categories.

Lorraine Randle entered Individual 17&Under Mallet, winning first place.

Catherine Randle entered Individual 17&Under Guard winning first place.

Sharna Latch entered Individual 17&Under Guard winning third place.

Ella Felix Stewart entered Individual 13&Under Guard winning third place.

Lucy Steptoe entered Individual 13&Under Guard winning first place.

Miranda Butler entered Individual 17&Under Brass winning third place.

Sharna and Lucy also entered Open entertainment.

Lauren Earp was also persuaded into judging the 'Open Entertainment' section, although reluctant at first she thoroughly enjoyed it and was a great representative for the corps.

The day was enjoyed thoroughly by all and we look forward to competing again next year.

Phantom Knights Sign Deal with Sabian

The Phantom Knights are proud to announce that they will be exclusively using SABIAN cymbals for their 2011 season. This year will see PK enter its fifteenth season in competition. SABIAN is one of the leading cymbal manufactures in the world. Bruce Parry, SABIAN’s European Band & Orchestral Specialist said “SABIAN are delighted that the Phantom Knights have joined our family of endorsing ensembles. The UK has a thriving marching community, of which the Phantom Knights plays a significant role. Here, at SABIAN, we look forward to watching the Phantom Knights’ continued success.”

Corps Director, Carl Harris, comments “We want our members to be able to achieve the best quality of sound possible and in order to do this you must be using the best equipment. This is why we have chosen to partner up with SABIAN cymbals to replace our current cymbal set-up to give us the sound we are looking for.”

A fantastic second place despite the fact that we had been rattled by organisational delays and a seemingly endless wait for us to be given the signal to play. A real tribute to our fighting spirit.

What a great season it's been. What's been very evident this year is the overwhelming team spirit at rehearsals which has transformed itself into great on-field performances.

We are all proud to be associated with PK and now we can look forward to the new season with confidence

Not just any old competition this one

Its OUR competition!

So we were involved on two fronts - organising it and playing in it

The enthusiasm was evident at the rehearsal on the Saturday and this carried over into an absolutely storming performance on the Sunday which was a wonder to behold.

Behind the scenes staff and supporters worked hard to make the competition day a geat success so to everyone both on and off the field - YOU ARE THE GREATEST!

The second half of the season got off to a flying start with a well deserved 2nd place at the Brass Explosion competition in Stafford.

The morning's gloomy weather gave way to a fine afternoon which helped to boost spirits.

Somehow the weather held, although it was a bit blustery, and we gave a spirited performance earning us a second place behind East Coast Elite.
Well done to everybody involved and let's not forget all the staff and helpers without whom it would not be possible to organise everything involved in getting to the competitions.

Spotlight on Youth 26th June 2010

So what's 0.17 of a point between friends? That's how close it was beween us and Beeches Cadets!

We gave an absolutely spectacular performance. Everybody involved are be proud to have been associated with it - especially with so many new members in the corps. And the weather was great (unlike last year when it rained most of the time)

We won Visual Effect, Ensemble Visual, Field Wind, Colour Guard and Turnout with a fantastic final score of 58.50

Many thanks to all who took part and to all the helpers and supporters without whom Phantom Knights could not exist.

Easter Camp 2010

The "outdoor" season got off to a flying start at the Easter Beaumanor Camp.

Amazingly the weather held and we didn't suffer the usual soaking.

Amazing progress was achieved thanks to hard work and the right atitude from everybody. This is turning out to be a really enjoyable season already.

Thanks, as always, to all the staff and behind-the-scenes helpers who make all this run so smoothly

Rose Harris was baptised on Sunday 29th March at Witherley Church followed by a splendid spread at the Windmill Social Club. Congratulations to Mum and Dad and to everyone else who helped make it such a pleasant day.

Warwick Band Camp - January 2010

We had a fabulous start to the new with a highly successful weekend band camp held over the weekend of 23rd and 24th January.

Everybody worked really hard with each section being virtually transformed over the weekend. This gives us something reallly solid to build on.

Once again we were both in the competition and organising showing a great overall team PK are.

Dynamite at Brass Explosion - Stafford 6th September 2009

We gave a dynamite performance and proved to ourselves and everybody else that we are well worthy to be in Division 1.

Although we didn't win anything the points (and the overall points in the League) are really close and we are up against some very serious competition.

Somehow it managed to contrive to rain on us but that did nothing to dampen an enthusiastic and spirited performence - best of the year so far!

Academy Brass July 2009

Well at least it didn't rain!

When I first arrived I thought that I had walked onto the set of The Godfather - what an impressive turnout!

We suffered from some absences in the line up but as usual put on a lively performance. I am sure that I am not alone in being disappointed with the result but it does give us something to fight for in the second half of the season.

Thanks as always to everybody who helped make this happen both on and off the field - moving an entire band around the country is no mean feat.

Northern Stars

What a contrast to the rain and grey skies of last week.

In the blazing sunshine we produced a scorcher of a performance and kept our heads up high in Division One. With an improved score we just keep getting better and better.

Congratulations and thanks to all concerned. The hard work is paying off.
